Personal belief is very powerful. It shows up as confidence and can be the difference between you landing a new customer or a new distributor or just another sad occurance being rejected.
And speaking of rejection, having swagger in your stephelps with the inevitable rejections that come with the mlm industry. After all, not everyone you meet will buy your products. Otherwise everyone in the world would have each and every wigit a company can come up with. Someone must say no to keep variety in the market.
The second thing to know is how to do basic marketing. Success and rejection is part of that research. Understanding what types of clients are buying or rejecting your product is super powerful. For example, why did your sister like the scented waxes you showed her but did not like the drink products (or perhaps she like it the other way around.) If you track what is being purchased or rejected around you, you will have a great advantage over your competition.
The next thing is a traditional concept: Location, Location, Location. Imagine a Burger King sitting in the middle of a snow field in Antartica . Probably not the best location to attract business. For a new career business working in the direct sales industry it is a combination of being in the right location where there are enough customers to buy your products to and the timing of finding a mlm company that is still growing so there is a sufficient exposure to new clients that can be exposed your productsfor the first time.
I won’t try to deceive you that all mlm companies will make the initial few hundred independent consultants more successufl than the rest of the independent consultants of he company. But that is the same with all industries from pens to burgers. The first person to a new market gains the benefits of lower competition. So if you really want to beat your competition find a business that is just starting up. Yet another business rule can be applied here too. The higher the risk, the greater the return. So you may find a business where you can be the first distributor. So you may stand to become independent wealthy… but… if you are the ONLY consultant the company may soon be out of business.
A challenging choice. Do you go after scents or after diets. Do you go after a brand new start up that may fail or do you go after something that is really stable. If you are determined, going after the scented oils can be just as much of a successful home based business as any other type of opportunity.
The final tip is the support group you get involved with. Here things are a bit opposite in the direct sales industry than in a regular business. A normal business interviews a potential worker to see if they are a good cultural fit and a hard worker… basically, a good worker. When you are looking for a home based business opportunity, YOU are interviewing the company you want to work for. Specifically, you are investigating the individual that will sponsor you into your home based business. Be assertive and find all you can about your potential sponsor. Ask if you can be involved with their group calls BEFORE you start with them so you know they actually do them. Ask to talk to one of the people they sponsored so you can find out how well they will support and train you. Ask.. ask.. ask! Information is critical in making the and informed decision.
HINT: If a potential sponsor is unwilling to let you participate BEFORE you join or let you talk to their team, they probably are ineffective leader and will not support you AFTER you join. It’s your work at home business… don’t be afraid to walk away and find someone you can work with, have fun with, and can learn from.
