GoDaddy.com Domain Registrar Review

GoDaddy was founded in 1997. This makes GoDaddy one of the longest operating domain registrars around. It is the largest ICANN-accredited registrar.

GoDaddy has over 36 million domains registered through them. The most recent study shows that is more than 3 times the second largest registrar which has about 10 million domains.
That makes GoDaddy three times larger than their second closest competitor, quite impressive for an industry and a company that is just over 10 years old.

Customers

A decent barometer for determining a companies abilities is to look at their customer base. GoDaddy has over 7 million customers. They provide 24/7 live customer service. It is always a good sign when two things occur, first they have a large customer base and two they are a public company. Public companies need to file constantly and have an incentive to assure they treat their customers fairly. This is just a general statement, does not mean that non-public companies do not treat their customers well but public ones are definitely incentivized to keep their record as spotless as possible. Take it from 7 million customers.

GoDaddy Corporate

Go Daddy has been ranked on the Inc. 500 list of the fastest-growing privately held companies as well as listed on the Deloitte Technology Fast 500. They have also won multiple awards.

Domain Manager

GoDaddy has an excellent domain manager to make updates to your domains. Chanding a DNS entry is quick and simple. They also provide all the services such as domain masking, redirection and more. Their ease of use also allows you to set up multiple forms of payment and auto-renew to assure you do not forget to renew your domains.
GoDaddy has become the world?s #1 choice for domains by providing innovative, competitively-priced products, delivering the highest quality customer service, and by always appreciating and listening to its customers!

Bottom Line

Finally, Godaddy.com is undoubtedly the largest domain registrar out there with the 36+ million domains it manages for their customers and with over 30% domain registrations market share.

Their Cpanel is kind of difficult, but if you can tolerate it you should be fine. (some down right HATE it.) They have received a couple complaints about their customer service, but all and all, I have found it to be a cost efficient domain registrar and web hosting company, with sub-par speed. True, I highly recommend purchase your domains with GoDaddy, but I HIGHLY encourage you to host them elsewhere. Some do like to pay a one time payment (for web hosting a year), so in case this is you, you should read my review on BlueHost.com. My site DomainsFlow.com was actually hosted by GoDaddy at one time, but I switched to BlueHost. GoDaddy just seems to be a lot of broken promises! I hope this GoDaddy review was helpful in determining if they are right for you.
